Our families stay in the heart of Willemstad, a UNESCO World Heritage city where history, culture, and everyday island life come together in a vibrant, walkable setting. With its colorful architecture, waterfront views, and lively streets, Willemstad offers an immersive environment for families to live, learn, and explore.
The Historic Heart: Punda
At the center is Punda, the oldest part of the city, founded in 1634. Its grid-like streets are designed for walking, making it easy and safe for families to move between home, coworking spaces, and local experiences. Here, you'll find landmarks like the floating market, local markets, historic forts, and the iconic Handelskade waterfront.
The Artistic Soul: Otrobanda
Just across the Queen Emma Bridge, a floating pedestrian bridge that opens to let ships pass, is Otrobanda. This side of the city offers a more local, artistic feel, with colorful streets, murals, cafés, and cultural spaces to explore.

Where will we live, and how close will we be to other families?
Every ÎleO family lives in the heart of Willemstad. Some families stay in the same building, while others may be 10 to 15 minutes away from each other, all within a walkable radius of our coworking space, cafés, the floating market, and everyday life.
Housing is offered at different price points based on size, location, and amenities, so families can choose what fits their budget. We'll share a clear baseline starting price during consultation, along with options that work for your family size and preferences.
This intentional proximity creates what we call a natural collective: kids running between homes, spontaneous coffees, shared dinners. You'll have your private space, but community is always just a few steps away.
Can I bring my pet?
We do not allow pets in our managed housing at this time. We understand how hard it can be to leave a beloved pet behind, and we recommend planning early for trusted care at home. That said, we are always open to a conversation. If your family has a service animal or special circumstances, please mention this during your consultation and we will do our best to find a thoughtful solution together.
Is there air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and laundry in the homes?
Yes. Every home includes air conditioning in the bedrooms, dedicated fiber-optic high-speed Wi-Fi, in-home laundry, a fully equipped kitchen, linens, towels, and regular cleaning service. We want you to feel settled from the moment you walk in.
How do we get to the learning center each day?
We provide a dedicated bus that picks children up at 7:30 AM from designated points close to our homes, and drops them back at 2:30 PM. This means parents can start their work day without worrying about morning school runs.
Do I need to rent a car?
It's not required, but many families choose to. Willemstad is highly walkable: homes, cafés, playgrounds, the floating market, and the coworking space are all within walking distance. For weekend beach trips and excursions beyond the city, a rental car is helpful. We can arrange discounted rentals through our local partners.
Can we choose our own apartment, or will you assign one?
It's a combination. During your consultation, we gather your family's needs (size, preferences, budget, accessibility) and pre-match you with a home from our curated collection. Final selection is coordinated together before arrival so you know exactly where you're going.
Are utilities (water, electricity, internet) included?
Yes, water, electricity, and high-speed fiber internet are all included in your housing cost. Each home has a reasonable monthly usage allowance, and in the rare cases where usage significantly exceeds that allowance (for example, running AC in every room around the clock), additional fees may apply. For the vast majority of our families, everyday use is fully covered and there are no surprise utility bills.
