Community Gathering

How We Connect.

We connect families to the culture of Curaçao through local partnerships, creating meaningful experiences and a strong sense of community.

Connection is our Foundation.

At ÎleO, we believe that the best way to experience a new culture is together. We thoughtfully curate a community of conscious families who share a desire for exploration, growth, and meaningful connection.

Every family lives within walking distance of each other.

This intentional proximity creates a natural "collective" feel. Whether it's a spontaneous coffee, a shared sunset, or the kids running between houses, you'll find that support and friendship are always just a few steps away.

Families Gathering

How we connect

Our community rhythm is designed to foster deep bonds without overwhelming your family's private time.

Shared Tables

From welcome dinners to casual potlucks, we believe the best conversations happen over a meal. Experience local Curaçaoan flavors with your new collective.

Weekly Rhythm

Regular meetups, workshops, and family outings are woven into the week, providing a consistent structure for connection and support.

* This rhythm is available as an optional add-on to your base stay.

Parents Connecting

Parent Circles:
We're here to listen.

We know that moving your family to a new country is a massive transition. Our Parent Circles aren't just social meetups—they are intentional spaces for us to hear from you.

Your experience matters to us.

We use these circles to listen to your needs, challenges, and ideas. By understanding your family's unique journey, we can continuously refine and improve the ÎleO experience, ensuring your time on the island is as fulfilling and supported as possible.

Find your people.

Don't navigate this chapter alone. Join a community that understands your journey and celebrates the adventure of worldschooling.

FAQ

Questions about community

How many families are in each cohort?

Each ÎleO cohort welcomes 6 to 10 families. We keep cohorts intentionally small to protect the quality of care, depth of community, and individual attention each child receives. This also means spots fill quickly, so early booking is encouraged.

A quick clarification on the word "cohort": each cohort lasts 30 days. Our cohort seasons run for three months (for example, Fall 2026 runs September through December), and families can choose to stay for a single 30-day cohort, two back-to-back cohorts, or the full three-month season. Most families are encouraged to stay the full season for the richest experience, but we welcome you to craft the rhythm that fits your life.

Where will we live, and how close will we be to other families?

Every ÎleO family lives in the heart of Willemstad. Some families stay in the same building, while others may be 10 to 15 minutes away from each other, all within a walkable radius of our coworking space, cafés, the floating market, and everyday life.

Housing is offered at different price points based on size, location, and amenities, so families can choose what fits their budget. We'll share a clear baseline starting price during consultation, along with options that work for your family size and preferences.

This intentional proximity creates what we call a natural collective: kids running between homes, spontaneous coffees, shared dinners. You'll have your private space, but community is always just a few steps away.

Are grandparents or visiting family members allowed to join?

Yes. We love welcoming visiting family members. Short visits to the community and coworking spaces are generally permitted. For extended visits (more than one week), we ask that guests be registered with us so we can maintain a consistent experience for all families.

What makes a family a good fit for ÎleO?

Families who thrive at ÎleO tend to share a few qualities:

  • They see learning as something that unfolds throughout the day, not just in a classroom
  • They value community, curiosity, and cultural openness
  • They are homeschooling, worldschooling, or seeking flexible educational environments
  • They work remotely or run location-flexible businesses
  • They are ready to participate in community life, not just consume it
  • They respect the pace, people, and culture of the island

If this sounds like your family, you're likely a great fit. Let's talk.

Can single parents join?

Absolutely. We welcome families of every structure: single parents, co-parents, blended families, extended families. Community is central to what we do, and single-parent families often tell us the ÎleO model is especially supportive because they're not navigating this alone.
