Frequently Asked Questions

What is ÎleO exactly: a school, a camp, or something else?

ÎleO is a learning ecosystem, not a school. We support families who are homeschooling, worldschooling, or looking for a flexible, culturally rich learning environment for their children. Our program provides place-based enrichment, a vibrant daily rhythm, community connection, and fully managed housing and coworking, all rooted in Curaçao. Families remain responsible for their own formal homeschooling curriculum or academic requirements. ÎleO is the village around your family while you live and learn abroad.

When are the Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 cohort seasons?

Our Fall 2026 cohort season runs September 1 through December 2, with arrivals beginning Saturday, August 29 to give families time to settle in before the program begins.

Within this season, families can book a single 30-day cohort, two back-to-back cohorts, or the full three-month season. Our Winter 2027 cohort season dates will be announced soon. Join our mailing list or book a consultation to be notified first.

What housing options can I choose?

Every family can choose one of three equal housing paths:

  • ÎleO Standard: comfortable, family-friendly homes operated by curated local hosts, mostly in Otrobanda and select Punda properties. A one-time $250 Matching Fee covers our curation and connection to your host.
  • ÎleO Premium: professionally managed homes through Coral & Coco and PMI Curaçao, with premium amenities and concierge support. A 10% Bundle Discount applies to the eligible subtotal.
  • Own Home: arrange your own apartment, hotel, or Airbnb and join ÎleO for the program and community. This path includes Community Access and excludes only the housing charge.

Every housing path includes Community Access for the selected number of parents. The meal plan remains optional for every housing path.

How do I apply, and is there a vetting process?

The process is simple and conversational:

  • Start by submitting a consultation request through our Craft Your Stay page.
  • We schedule a 30-minute call to learn about your family, answer questions, and confirm fit.
  • If aligned, we send you a booking proposal with personalized housing and pricing.
  • You secure your spot with a non-refundable deposit, and we begin pre-arrival onboarding together.

Yes, we do review all placements for community alignment and fit, not to exclude but to protect the experience for every family in the cohort.

How far in advance should I apply?

As early as possible. Because our cohorts are limited to 6–10 families, spots tend to fill quickly, especially for Fall and Winter, our most popular seasons. We recommend booking at least 4–6 months before your desired cohort start date. If you're interested in Fall 2026, reach out now to secure your place.
